Freight.

One small harbour, shared by everyone. Build works, price your crates, sail to the Freeport and let the others bid for the lot, sealed. Nobody gets rich alone here. That is the whole problem.

These rules on one page

the rules, briefly

Capital has to move.

You have two actions each turn. Build capacity, produce and price cargo, buy another trading company’s works stock for your depot, or sail and load cargo from another harbour. Production pays $1 to the trading company on your right.

Move through open sea between harbours. A freighter holds five cargo units. Delivering to the Freeport starts a sealed Import Tender and ends your turn: sell to the highest bidder and receive a matching Trade Rebate, or pay that bid yourself and keep the cargo. A tied Import Tender has one rebid before the seller chooses.

Credit Lines provide $10 in capital, cost $1 interest each turn and deduct $11 if unpaid at the end. Two exhausted supply colours trigger the end after the active turn. Your private values determine Freeport earnings, but your most plentiful colour scores nothing. The special $5 colour becomes $10 with all five colours, and must be discarded if tied for most.

Reading the table

The table is the harbour seen from above. The other companies’ quays run along the top, yours along the bottom, and the water lies between: the crate yard (cargo still to be produced), the open sea, and the Freeport island with the tender house and every company’s Import Berth. A freighter is drawn where it actually is. Every crate carries its colour as two letters: BK, WH, BR, TN, OR.

About this version

This uses the classic economy without the Off-Shore Bank or beginner domestic sales. Value cards use five balanced cyclic permutations rather than reproducing printed cards. Starting colours and cards are shuffled; the host goes first. Scoring automatically chooses the cheapest discard when allowed. Opening a Credit Line for interest is automatic if one more can cover it. All human trading companies can also agree to score early; taking a game action cancels the request.

Online guests receive only their own values, capital and unrevealed bid. The host is trusted and holds the complete game. Bot companies are labelled and choose from the same trading-company view. Northstar Works (B. Castor, a beaver) builds Works, Pelican & Co. (Mme. Pelican) brokers bargains, the Atlas Line (Capt. Atlas, a sea turtle) favours freight and Meridian Trust (P. Meridian, a magpie) collects Freeport value. They react to public prices and Import Tender results. Their personalities guide preferences; all four can change strategy as the market changes. The host can let a bot cover a disconnected guest; reconnecting in the original tab restores human control.
