One word. Two sides.

  1. Meet the Speaker. The Speaker chooses one of three secret words, taps a player’s name, then sends an answer token. This public job rotates independently of their hidden role.
  2. Check your cover. Citizens do not know the word. The Insider helps the street subtly. Fixers know the word and try to mislead the street. A Fixer Speaker may lie.
  3. Ask yes/no questions. Classic guessing lasts four minutes; Quick lasts two, Unhurried six. There are 36 shared Yes/No tokens, 10 Maybe, one So close and one Way off. Way off does not answer the next queued question. The last Yes/No token ends guessing.
  4. Found it? The Speaker confirms a direct, complete guess. Fixers become public and secretly identify the Insider. Any correct choice wins for the Fixers; otherwise the street wins.
  5. Did not find it? Discuss who misled you, then vote privately for another person. A Fixer tied for the most votes is caught, except when everyone receives exactly one vote. Missing ballots abstain.

4–6 players have one Fixer; 7–10 have two. There is always one Insider. The Speaker may have any hidden role. Roles are redealt between rounds; one point goes to each player on the winning hidden side. Choose free play or a 3, 5 or 10 round session. Cancelled rounds do not count.

Classic: 60 seconds of discussion, 15 seconds to identify the Insider and 30 seconds for ballots. Quick: 45 / 15 / 30 seconds. Unhurried: 120 / 30 / 60 seconds. Shared-phone handoffs instead allow 45 seconds per Fixer and 15 seconds per voter, measured from the start of the phase.

Hold a role card to peek, or tap for five seconds. Releasing or leaving the page covers it. Tap a player above the tokens to answer a spoken question. A queued question selects its asker automatically; choose another player whenever needed. The selected player stays highlighted. Answer keys: Y, N, M, C and W send to that player. Undo is available for five seconds while guessing continues, unless the answered player has already queued a new question. You can edit or withdraw your own unanswered question.

Text discussion is public and is available in the lobby, discussion, voting and results. It is closed during guessing and private-role phases. Use the question queue while guessing; there is no built-in voice call.

The original host owns the private state. It is never migrated to a guest. The game pauses on observed signaling loss and attempts to pause before the host page is hidden. A browser can be suspended or killed before these events run: keep the host awake and pause before stepping away. Returning does not silently resume the timer.

Keep this tab to recover your seat or shared-phone table. Closing every tab does not preserve an online room. A host-authored custom word bank is known to its author; only the selected role-appropriate word is sent to other players.
